Creative thinking

Our very first module was about creative thinking. We got told that we had to create a carrier that would hold a book with all of our exercises in. i couldn't think of anything at first, I new i wanted to do something that would stand out....My first initial idea was to make a head out of paper machete but then i thought a lot of people would think about doing that, so i had a talk with my sister and my mum to get their opinion on what they thought i could do in the short amount of time we had to do it. I then thought of doing a transparent upside down fish bowl with different coloured lights in to represent the different parts of the brain, i thought i could slot the book in some how and that would work. I always enjoy getting other peoples opinions so i decided to consult my fellow advertisers they all really liked the idea but didn't know if it would work out the way i was imagining it, so I went back to the drawing board. I then thought a lot about what i thought was the key to any sort of creative thinking, it may seem weird but my automatic thought was an eye, i felt that this was the key to seeing things that get your creative flow moving. I finally decided i would make a book with a 3D eye on it, the eye blinked and inside the book it had all of the exercises we had completed throughout the module. I made them all 3D to tie in with the feel and look of the 3D eye.
This module was one of my favourites because I had free rein over what i wanted to do and i could use as much creativity as i wanted. It was hard work, i must have stayed up until 4 o'clock every morning trying to make my book stand out from the rest. I learnt a lot from this module, it helped me unlock the parts of my brain that i never knew existed. It was fun and my tutors really liked the final product.
